You will probably find, if people actually bother to vote, it will be biased towards the game that they joined OCB with or old games that they cling on to, most likely being DB because thats all thats left and BC2 because BC2 apparently.
Well ideally the "highlighted" game should last a week minimum, not a day. For example the second week of every month.
As for types of games, ideally they should be ones that a free/cheap/that most people have AND can support the larger player counts that could be brought, so we are all on the same server and not spread out and sicking to own cliques.
Needs to be decided more than a week in advance so people can DL/update/ask about said game.
Perhaps stream and get viewers involved.
More than just the usual FPS sometimes, can be used to introduce members to other types of games.
If said game has an API challenges can be made for it. Focusing on teamwork things like revives, kill assists, heals, resupplies etc. Can also be difficult/funny things like road kills, knifing/killing OCB members, or kills with a silly weapon.
If streamed: Engage with other OCB members and stream watchers. For example playing games where you can ask viewers for what to do.
Streaming multiple views of something. Perhaps even on one channel (OCBs..) - both stream to an RTSP sever (which then streams to Twitch/Youtube) (OCB has their own dedicated server, right?) and someone is the director/controller and chooses what is to be seen (splitscreen, one view only etc) and potentially commentating on if it is suitable. For example playing Rocket League and someone decides which car to watch, playing an FPS that has vehicle combat and one view is the infantry, the other is the airs/ground vehicle view. Space Engineers team Vs Team or build offs etc. RTS/turn based same thing - views of each team and commenting on.
Games that could be added to list:
DCS World (I doubt this would get many votes, its a combat flight sim and the members that we seem to get wont have the patience to try it, but it is free).
Heroes and Generals (F2P WW2 FPS).
Red Orchestra 2.
Rising Storm 2.
Don't Starve Togther.
H1Z1 (if thats still a thing).
Many of those were high in the data.
My data was from 2016 and now he have two Steam groups so the program I created to get the data will have to be changed. Looks like I get the list of members, then iterate though each member getting their games and collating the info, so I'd have to change it to ignore duplicate members. Don't know if I will do this seeing as how the data wasn't used last time. The old data may still be in one of the channels, though it might have been in the old PS2 subchannel that got deleted. I still have a local copy of the old data anyway.
Think we need to put a little more thought into this STV has some valid points. Games likes Dirty bomb is too obvious. We need to have games we can play as a group and not often played. So i suggest that we get recommendations from members 1 game per member. I suggest Ironsights for a starters.
